After many years of plentiful funds, PNG University of Technology faced the need to maintain its high level of service on a dwindling budget and chose to replace hardcopy holdings with electronic access. Having improved control over the subscriptions through the management information offered by consolidation, many hardcopy s and indexes were replaced by online searching facilities.
