The Changing World: The Role of the Subscription Agent
Abstract
The services provided by subscription agents offer libraries a cost-effective method for subscribing to journals, whilst helping the publishers to promote their titles. These basic services are likely to continue in the future but, in seeking to maintain margins, agents will be offering additional services as intermediaries for electronic information sources, perhaps directly to end-users.
