Standard Licences: Simplifying the Acquisitions Process
Abstract
Relying on copyright law is no longer sufficient to define the rights and obligations of publishers and librarians in the digital environment. Licences are needed in order to cover all the issues that arise when scholarly information is distributed over the Internet. The variety and complexity of licences can be minimised by using model licences, which are available to the whole serials community on http://www.licensingmodels.com
